I have acquired a Wii!!
I have had this seed planted in my head ever since I bought my 50in TV. Well maybe not a Wii, but a newer system than the PS2. The Wii has won over the PS3 and Xbox. I still might be in th market for the latter two but the Wii reigns for now. The seed was planted ever since last Sept and has sprouted.
Deciding factors:
(1) Ease to acquire. Found in the third GAMESTOP I called.
(2) Price, an easy 250.
(3) The need for competition. Can't play many in Madden(PS2) and my guests Connect 4 skills are seriously lacking.
So enter the Wii, my Mii has been made and I am connected online. Anyone with a Wii, let me know so we can get into a 'friendly' game of whatever it may be.
Super Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, Splinter Cell acquired. On the waiting list for WiiFit, which comes out May 19th, is what I am really excited for.
Best part, Discover card called within 15 minutes to verify the purchase. Someone was doing their job.

Cozumel, Are You Ready?

Day 3
After another great night's sleep on the high seas, it is Cozumel time. Hola Mexico! Been to Tijuana, Mazatlan, Rosarita and now can add Cozumel to the list. So the days event is Swimming with the Dolphins. We disembark the ship and head to the pier. Brief taxi ride to the Dolphin facility and we are ready to begin. BD and I were groupped with some rather large English women for a small group of 4. During our time in the water with the dolphins, we got a kiss, handshake and rode the dolphin a short distance. Afterwards, we treaded water And let the dolphin swim between us, while askng the trainer questions and such. A good time was had and well worth the money. Towards the end, there was some confusion between BD and myself whether to go back to town or to the beach. Also whether to get some pictures or video provided by the staff. Video and pictures were a bit much for my liking and the beach was not looking as good as going back to the pier for some food.
So we are back at the pier and we stumble upon a vendor with various animals, snakes and monkeys to be exact. So BD and I get our picture taken with the animals. Loads of fun. Next event, we head over to Carlos n Charlies from some drinks and food and finally some shopping at the tourist mall before heading back to the ship. Picked myself up a dolphin glass pipe which I am thoroughly happy with :)
Back on the ship, we prepare for.......Grand Cayman and swimming with the sting rays.

Day 2 - Lets Wander the Pearl

Day 2
Woke up after a wonderful nights sleep back on the high seas. The ocean looks remarkable, as I once remembered it. I don’t feel much rocking, maybe due to me regaining my sea legs quickly, or maybe the ocean is not choppy and/or we are not cruising too fast. Anyhow, I am having an ecstatic time onboard. I am scheduled for Texas Hold’em Poker, Blackjack, Spinning and a massage later in the cruise. I am ready to enjoy myself. First things first, some homework needs to be done. Yes, very sad but I cant disconnect from the world just yet. Will do my best though. After some breakfast and reflection, on my current location, I proceeded to Texas Hold’em.
Let the winning begin!! It is Texas Hold’em time. Tournament game and I am my usual overconfident self. Well, not so fast Nitro. This is Tournament is set up in the casino’s favor, BIG TIME! Buy in was $60 for 1000 in chips, and rebuys, for the first 75 minutes are $60 for 1000 in chips. Blinds went 25/50, 50/100 for 30 minutes each. Next 15 minutes is a killer round with 300/600 blinds. 15-minute break and then the blinds are 5000/10000 for 15 minutes and then jumping to 10000/20000. So to get to the game, I was my normal betting-every-hand self. And not knowing much, I wasn’t getting any cards and I rebought once and was done. Didn’t know much for the game, and ran myself dry. It was a good lesson however. The Blackjack didn’t treat me any better. I wont even get into how Blackjack was ran due to me not being interested in it. So now, it was time for me to head up a few decks to spinning.
Spinning wasn’t anything special. For some reason, during the good songs we were on the down spin of the routine. I worked up a good sweat, but didn’t think much of the routine. I will not be signing up for Thursday’s event.
For dinner, BD and I went to the Asian restaurant. I had the sushi; BD had some delicious Teriyaki steak. Good all around.
Sleep soon occurred afterwards and that was all she wrote.

Day 1
Embarkation. Moms and Anita dropped BD and I off at the pier. The ship for the cruise is the Norwegian Pearl. A lovely week away from life ensues. Boarding was timely and without any foreseeable hitches. After settling down, BD and I went for some grub. We were not able to change, due to our luggage being checked and given back to us at 1900. Well after the eating, a spa tour was upon us. It was learned during this tour, that there are no, or not many, Americans as staff onboard the Norwegian Pearl. This new knowledge turned out to be a plus for me. So it was then decided, during the tour, which I would sign up for a Hot Stone Massage and Spinning for the next day, Monday. So a few hours later, back to the cabin and sent off the clothes for pressing, the pressing issue was…where is the Super Bowl Watch party going to be held?
Well, the television was found and BD and I sat down for the viewing. Not the best of seats, but they did well for what I had. Before the Super Bowl started, I decided to put down some money. The whole two weeks up to the big game, I decided I would not bet. If I had bet, I would put money on Giants minus 12. Well, it became time and I was sitting patiently. Decided to go against myself and put some money down. Went against myself twice, and put money on the PATS MINUS 7 for the first half. First half came and went, the PATS had their chances to go up 7, I would have been sitting great with getting my money back, but it wasn’t in the cards. Casino always wins, I should listen to myself but it is what it is. A loosing ticket. Damnations!! The Super Bowl turned out to be one for the ages. I had no allegiances, I would have been double as happy winning with my original bet of GIANTS PLUS 12 for the game, but it wasn’t meant to be. The Giants are Super Bowl winners!! Who would’ve though that one? Not me obviously.
During the game, BD decided to go on a ship excursion, roaming randomly, so she was not near me at the end of the game. I made some friends (with the help of tequilas and double 7 and 7s), which were sitting around me, and sat around well after the game chatting up the Giants fans. What a great game. Went to the evening buffet at the end of the ship and watched the sea before retiring back to the cabin.

2008 Goal
As I sit here preparing for my cruise to the caribe, I find myself in Barnes and Nobles. A certain feelin is upon me and that is of knowledge at my fingertips, in every direction. I am liking this feeling.
A lot of categories to choose from, must choose wisely so I do not get discouraged. The 360 Degree Leader: Developing Your Influence from Anywhere in the Organization by John Maxwell, is the book I decided upon. I need to develop some up leadership skills amongst other areas.
So we will see how this endeavor treats me, onto the cruise!!
